Early goals in Germany.......

The early kick offs have produced plenty of goals this World Cup, the eight matches so far are averaging 3.5 per game.

The last 5 Iran fixtures have all gone "over" 3.5 goals, so think we can expect goals today, when they meet group favourites, Portugal. The european side were big scorers in qualification (35 goals) and were heavily criticized by the home media for "stepping off the gas" in the opening tie with Angola, they were happier keeping possession ( almost 60%), than looking for another goal.

The Portugese side have great width and the wingers can stretch the Iran defence, also looks like Deco will return today in the playmaker role. He can boss the midfield, an area where Iran were overrun by Mexico in the first game.

The draw will have little benefit for Iran, if they have any hopes of progression, so they will have to open up at some stage. I will take the "over" and look for Pauleta to get on the scoresheet.

Figo won the "man of the match award" in the first game, feel that these will be spread around, so we can look elsewhere today. This is an official award, voted for by the FIFA technical study group, providing Ronaldo starts, he looks overpriced , his style of play is always likely to impress.

4 points over 2.5 goals 1.95 asian line
1 point Pauleta to score at any time 2.10 betfair
1 point Ronaldo MOM award 8.0 bet 365

Good Luck.
