GRIMSBY TOWN - ACCRINGTON STANLEY

Maybe not the biggest game of the day, but one of the more interesting.

Alan Buckley has recently returned to Grimsby, for what I think is his third spell in charge. He is something of a legend there and expectation levels have increased. After coming so close to promotion last season, the current campaign has been a disaster, so much so, that survival is their one and only concern.

Town took a surprise point away to league highflyers Wycombe last week and will be greedily coveting a further three today. Buckley has signed three players on loan, all from Championship clubs, including the highly promising Martin Patterson, a 19 yo striker from Stoke who is averaging a goal every two games in the reserves. He is very well thought of at Stoke and could be a revelation at this level.

Accrington are in a very poor run, have lost 5/6, conceding 14 goals and have only one clean sheet in 12. They have lost their two best players in Roberts (Ipswich) and Craney(Swansea), who have scored half of Stanley's goals this season and today, will also be without their captain Cavanagh (injured) and Harris (suspended) .

Buckley to keep the locals happy.

4 points Grimsbly -1/2 ball 2.10 general, you may find bigger in places, shop around.

Good Luck.
