WALSALL - GRIMSBY TOWN

Walsall can open up a six point lead at the top of League 2, with a win in front of the Sky camera's tonight.

They should be fully rested having not played since New Year's Day and after enjoying a 7 day training camp in Gran Canaria.

Revenge will also be on their minds, as Town, are one of only two sides that have beaten them this season, winning the reverse fixture in early September.

Grimsby boss Alan Buckley, will be returning to the club where he was revered as both player and coach, considered a legend by many there, he is assured a wonderful welcome, but will get no favours.

After an excellent start on his return to the Mariners, collecting 13 points from a possible 18, things have turned very sour recently, losing 4 straight with a 0-11 goal difference.

Following two away losses at Hartlepool and Stockport, where they gave up 59% and 65% possession respectively, with two woeful home defeats, creating very few chances and being comprehensively outplayed, by Chester (0-2) and Rochdale (0-4).

They have some major problems tonight, Rankin and Reddy are injured and been unable to train, Pulis has ended his loan spell and returned to Stoke and Fenton is banned. James Hunt has been signed on loan from Bristol Rovers and will go straight into the side, probably meeting his team mates on the bus for the first time.

The home team are without the suspended Daniel Fox, but the break has enabled most injury problems to clear, nothing like a little sun in the midst of winter.

Per Cederqvist is Saddlers boss Richard Money's latest signing, officially joining from Norwegian club Raufoss last week, although he has been training at the club for several weeks. The tall Swedish striker, was prolific in Norway ( 10 goals in 11 starts) and also during his time in his native country, he chose Walsall despite several other offers and is keen to prove himself in the English game. Per is likely to go straight into the side tonight, Stan James are quoting 2.625 for him to score "at anytime".

When Town lose, they tend to go all the way and take a bit of a battering, 12 of their 17 losses have been by 2+, 8 by 3 or more goals.

Walsall should have too much for the visitors and can add to their total of 10 wins at the Bescot stadium. Money is a very ambitious man who has big plans, he has assembled a fine squad, which looks way above Division 2 level.

4 points Walsall -1 goal asian line 1.97.

Good Luck.
