AZ ALKMAAR - WILLEM II

The worst defence in Eredivisie, travel to meet the league's highest scorers. Surely we can expect goals and most should be in the Willem net.

AZ recorded a very fine 3-2 win at PSV last week, which blew the title race wide open. A win tonight will take them back up to second place and within 3 points of the top. Their next two home games are against Ajax and Feyenoord, so anything less than maximum points here, will be a something of a disaster.

H2h favours the hosts, who have won the last 5 meetings, all by 2 or more, scoring an average of 3.6 goals per game.

Both teams are missing a handful of players, but the losses are sure to be harder felt by Willem, who do not have the resources that Louis van Gaal, has at his disposal.

The weather should not be a factor, the fog which was present earlier in the day has disappeared and the temperature is forecast to be a few degrees above freezing.

These big handicaps are always a risky proposition, but in this case, it seems the only possible option, a 2 goal win is the minimum I envisage.

3 points AZ -2 goals asian line 1.77.

I will be back a little later.

Good Luck.
