CHARLTON ATHLETIC - NEWCASTLE UNITED

Charlton are currently 7 points from safety, but if they could beat Newcasle today, the Londoners would close to within 4 points of Sheffield United and 6 of Wigan, both of whom they have still to host. Infact, they meet the three clubs directly above them in the table.

Marcus Bent will start up front, but late tests will decide who partners him. Darren Bent would be first choice of course and even if he is just 60% fit, I cannot believe he will not play some part, in such a huge game.

United will be without the rejuvenated Nicky Butt, who is suspended and they must be a little low, following their UEFA Cup elimination on Thursday. Where, I believe, Glenn Roeder got the tactics all wrong. They do not have the best record in the capital and have only won once here, in the Premiership.

This is a lifeline for the hosts and I expect them to grasp it with both hands and set up an exciting end to the season.

4 points Charlton -1/4 ball asian line 2.14.

Good Luck.
