As most of you are well aware, this is a league of very few goals, over the last 4 years, the average has been under 2.16 per game.
However, during the last quarter of the season, which we have now entered, these totals increase by approx 6%. That might not sound too much, but when we consider that more tend to come in the games where less is at stake, which is fairly obvious, it can be a useful place to start.
Over the next few weeks, I am going to follow matches where both teams seem destined for a mid table finish and are above average for goals, in their relative home/away games.
Today this gives us two qualifiers ........ AJACCIO-GUEUGNON and CHATEAUROUX-BASTIA, the first named looks especially strong, with Ajaccio's home games averaging 2.5 and Gueugon's away matches, over 2.84. That will be my stronger selection of the two, but we can back both with the 2 goal option, which looks good value.
