CHAMPIONSHIP ..... SOUTHEND UNITED - BARNSLEY

Southend let us down badly in the Essex derby with Colchester recently, but going a goal down after 37 seconds was hardly an ideal start !

They bounced back with a strong win at Preston and I am going to give them a chance to redeem theirselves in this relegation six pointer. This will be the 4th time these two have met this season and honours have been shared, with one win apiece.

Star striker Freddie Eastwood is stated as 50/50 for the hosts, but given the circumstances, I feel he is bound to play at least some part.

The Tykes will be without their suspended captain, Bobby Hassell and the injured Adam Eckersley, who is on loan from Manchester United, several others face late tests, so advantage to the home side.

Massive game for Southend, having felt they had blown it against Colchester, they have been given, or have taken, one final chance. If other results go their way, they could even find themselves outside the bottom 3. At times they can look quite good, let's hope this is a "going" day today.

4 points Southend United -1/2 ball 2.05 asian line. lost -4 points

Good Luck.
