VERIZON HERITAGE GOLF ........

This suspended tournament is scheduled to restart at 13.45 cet today, play was stopped yesterday, due to very high winds.

The leaderboard looks like this .......

-13 Jerry Kelly
-12 Kevin Na
Ernie Els
-11 Boo Weekley

-9 or worse " The Field "

Stephen Ames is a good wind player, it is still forecast to be blustery conditions today and he may be capable of getting into contention from off the pace, but I feel the winner is likely to come from the top 4.

Boo Weekley, who is a player many of you will not have heard of, is a 34 yo who has graduated from the Nationwide Tour, even there he struggled to turn high finishes into wins, so I am passing on him.

Kevin Na has struggled when in contention recently and is averaging 75 in his final rounds this year.

Ernie's problems have been well documented and although he could win, until he does get his head in front, we should avoid him, especially at such skinny odds.

That leaves us with Jerry Kelly a very consistent golfer, but hardly a consistent winner. This is demonstrated by his 60+ top ten finishes, only two of which have been converted into wins. However, one of those did come in the Sony Open in Hawaii , where the wind usually blows and Kelly has a very good record. So, almost by a process of elimination he is my selection.

Kelly comes here in excellent form, with a 9th place in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, followed by a fine 5th place in Augusta last week.

3 points Jerry Kelly outright 3.25 general Sunderlands/ Stan James/ Bet 365.

Back later.
