UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ..........

BATE BORISOV - ZENIT ST PETERSBURG

Zenit are drinking in the last chance saloon and to have any chance to qualify from the group, simply have to win in Belarus. They failed to win the home fixture, but once again created plenty of chances, including 12 on target, a big number. Apart from Nicolas Lombaerts, who has missed most of 2008, they travel with a fully fit squad and optimisim remains high, boss Dick Advocaat has pledged his future to the club and a win tonight, especially combined with a similar result for Real Madrid over Juve, would keep the "dream" alive. I do not want to keep making excuses for Zenit, that is Advocaat's job, they have failed to convert an incredible number of goal scoring opportunities in their two home starts and were too negative in Turin, but they remain a very good team.

BATE do not sit back at home, where they have beaten Valur of Iceland and drawn with Levski (1-1), Anderlecht(2-2) and Juventus (2-2). The last two named created , or were given, an awful lot of chances, Juve had 17 attempts on goal and the Belgian side had opportunities and infact scored, after being reduced to ten men. Zenit will get plenty of the ball and if they show just a little composure in front of goal, they should run out comfortable winners.

8 points Zenit -1/2 ball 1.91 asian line..... NOW 1.84

Good Luck.
