ROVERS EYEING ANOTHER LATE PROMOTION PUSH .....

DIVISION 1

CREWE ALEXANDRA - BRISTOL ROVERS

Two in form teams here. Crewe's fine recent run has given them a little breathing space (six points) over the drop zone and they are set to face the on fire and potent Rovers attack, without three key defensive players in Abbey, McCready and Woodards. The visitors are buzzing after a 5-0 win at Walsall and have not given up on a run at the play-offs, sitting 9 points off the pace, but with two games in hand. They came with a similar run two seasons ago to snatch promotion from Division 2 and boss Paul Trollope is starting to get a similar feel this time round and was very complementary about his squad on the club website this morning:

"When you start getting a bit of consistency, winning games and picking up points, you do get that belief, not just in yourself, but in your team mates and what we are doing."

"The spirit is good, but I also like the hunger that is there in the group at the moment."

"There is a hunger and a desire, not only to win games, but to do the nitty gritty things that you have got to do on the way to winning them."

"That includes defending right, concentrating for 90 minutes, and keeping clean sheets."

"The work ethic at the moment is exceptional."

We should see a few goals here, but Alex could ease off a little, at least subsconsiously and might struggle to contain the visitors, whose confidence is sky high.

6.5 points Bristol Rovers level ball 1.99 asian line.

Back later.
