SATURDAY ..............

Chelsea and Cardiff City start off the FA Cup action this weekend and this is a game which will surely produce goals. No Terry or Cole in the Blues defence and Alex and Carvalho are a little more cavalier, few who saw the game will forget their part in the 4-4 thriller with Liverpool last year in the Champions League. The pair were also on the pitch the last time Chelsea conceded at the Bridge, in the 7-2 thumping of Sunderland, Alex replaced JT early in the second half that day, with both visiting goals coming after the substitution.

City have a very lengthy injury list but few players will want to miss out on this and will play through the "pain barrier". They have scored in their last ten outings (23 in total) and last seven on the road, so have a real chance to get on the scoresheet today. There is also the chance that they could collapse, like they have in several recent outings, especially with a weakened team, or just that Chelsea will have "one of those days " when everything goes in. All of those options point to goals, I took the over 3 asian line earlier in the week, those odds are a bit skinny now, but the circa 2.20 on over 3.5 goals on general offer still appears a little value.

Back Later.
