SATURDAY .......... TIGERS TO SHOW TEETH, OR MORE MATCHDAY BLUES ?

I do not have too much time to spare today, but want to post a couple of previews on the blog, however brief they might be, so apologies in advance for that.

Going to start at St Andrews, where Birmingham City host Championship bound Hull City, both will be looking to bounce back after very heavy defeats in games, where there were claims that both "gave up". For City, that seems harsh, as they have had a very solid season, have little to play for and were playing a talented Manchester City side, hungry for points. The Tigers, who have fallen a long way short of that nickname, tamely conceded four goals on home soil to fellow relegation rivals Burnley, a side who had taken on the role of division whipping boys and the manner of that loss is much harder to understand and accept.

Hull are still without an EPL road win this season, in fact, they have not won away from the KC Stadium since March 2009. That's 22 starts, 17 of which they have lost, conceding an eyepopping 51 goals in the process. Birmingham will not want to be the side to end that sequence and will be looking to get back on track ahead of their derby game and last "big" match of the season with Villa next week. They play a far more expansive style now and have both scored and conceded in their last seven starts.

The visitors will have to go out looking for the three points, might well score, but at the moment you fear for them should they concede and another collapse could easily transpire. Under the circumstances, I have to bet the "over"" 2.5 goals at oods against, circa 2.02 currently available on the asian markets.

Back later.
