THE REVOLUTION WILL BE TELEVISED .....

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 16TH

I try not to get too het up about one result, they don't matter too much in the bigger scheme of things, but the failure of New England Revolution to claim at least one point and to score at least two goals was tough to take, if any of you have not seen it and are of a masochistic bent, here are eight minutes of highlights LINK.

All of today's football is in this email, just NFL in the follow up.

I don't want to get too far ahead of ourseleves, but we have a hugely promising week on the horizon, I have two very solid picks for Ligue 2 tomorrow and some big ideas for midweek, when we have Champions and Europa League action, plus a full round of Football League matches and it looks like we might have two maximum stake bets in the next seven days, only the fourth and fifth of 2012 !

 NAUTICO RECIFE- ATLETICO MINEIRO

The visitors will be greedily eyeing up the three points on offer as, following Fluminense's shock loss last night, the win will take Atletico back to the top of the table. However, I have kind of already played my hand for this one, when I wrote about the hosts ahead of the midweek game at Gremio .....
This fixture begins a really tough sequence of games for them (Nautico), after meeting third placed Gremio tonight, they have to then play the top two in quick succession. Nautico sit in 13th just five points clear of the relegation places and have not won in three, the pressure is really on them to get a result soon and as we have discussed previously in this tough league, sometimes you have to pick your battles. They are 1-2-9 on the road having scored just seven goals and 82% of their points have come on home soil. I suspect they will give their full attention to the visit from Atletico-MG at the weekend, tonight I am not so sure. Especially if they opt to play Souza in the holding role again alongside Dada , a combination they have used once previously at Cruzeiro when Elicarlos was injured and it was not a success. It also looks like striker Keiza (10-7-1) will be saved for the weekend and I feel that is the match they will be focused on this week.

As expected, they lost that 2-0, they are without suspended centre back Jean Rolt ( 13-0-0) but no other confirmed absences and it looks like Kieza ( 10-7-1) will play. Atletico have two big suspensions of their own with central defender Leonardo Silva ( 20-5-1) and striker Guilherme (14-3-0) both out, they have lost just 1 in 20 when Silva plays, one in three without him. Gulherme is a back up striker , but has started the last three, with main front man Jo (17-6-5) injured. They have not won in five on the road and weakened offensively and missing a key central defender, it will be tough for them here against a team who are solid on home soil ( 7-2-2) and just as hungry for the points. The hosts go to a hurt Fluminense next weekend and deperately need the win, the visitors will probably see a point as very acceptable. 1.5 units Nautico +0.25 ball 1.88 asian line.
